THE WOMEN’S CENTRE STAFF WILL ASSIST YOU WITH:
- Accessing support and/or mental health counseling: Sometimes, having someone to talk to can make all the difference.
- Access navigation, information and referrals to other agencies or services – If you do not know where to go for help, we can assist with suggesting what organization(s) you can turn to.
- Have someone go to an appointment for support and/or to advocate for them – We will go to an appointment or meeting with you for support, and we can speak on your behalf. We can accompany you to legal appointments, medical exams/consultations, Court, Child Welfare, Social Assistance, as well as meetings at the Provincial Building.
- Attend a program – All of our programs are developed by women and for women based on the needs and wants of the community.
- Get support to go back to work or school – This includes assistance in setting educational, career, and/or life goals.
- Get a cup of tea or coffee and chat – The centre offers a safe and warming environment for women to come and take a break. Come on in, relax, and know that you have a place to go if you want or need someone to talk to.
Services are accessible in Yarmouth, Digby/Clare, and Shelburne/Barrington.
